While I was in the jail, I had a radio, too. And ironically enough, there was terrible radio reception. But, out of the handful of stations that came in, three were of Christian music. Once I got my headset and started scanning stations, I came across the same Christian station I had found while in jail. And so this is where I heard a whisper and given a nudge. From that day forward I chose to listen to nothing but a Christian station. There’s a radio station called K-Love, and the Christian music on there isn’t your traditional chanting or Catholic music. It is newer with very diverse Christian lyrics arranged with current day genres such as rock, pop, hip hop and country. It was this music and the Spirit that I fell in love with. There were and still are some songs that sounded almost as if it was the Spirit speaking directly to me. And there were some songs that felt like my spirit inside of me was directly speaking to God. The part of you that whispers about innocence, love and yearning for our Creator. As I counted down the days I couldn’t wait to go to the next step in my journey, the Living and Liberty safehouse.
About 8 days before I was to be discharged from the Cove, my counselor pulled me into his office.
